GRADUATION SPEECH

The commencement ceremony will include a two-minute speech by a graduating senior. The speech is to contain a serious message and meaningful statement to leave with the graduating class.
Guidelines:

(1) Students are to present their entries to Aida Maged at the Office of Student Development, Wallace Building, Greek Campus. The Student Union high board selects five of the speeches for committee consideration (high board members who are submitting speeches are to be replaced by SU seniors who are not submitting speeches). Papers presented should include the text of the proposed two-minute speech, as well as a separate listing of the student’s GPA, activities, honors, etc. The deadline for all submissions is on Wednesday, June 4. You may submit your entry at any time before the deadline.

(2) A committee composed of a representative from the SU (who is not one of the candidates), the chair of the University Senate and a representative of the vice president for student affairs will meet to make the final selection, based mainly on the proposed speeches. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 11.
